June 24th: Fond du Lac Gran Prix
About the Venue
Welcome to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin - your returning host for one day of action and excitement during the Tour of America's Dairyland on Friday, June 24.
Our central location for the Tour of America's Dairyland makes us the perfect place to call home during this 11-city cycling event. We are centrally located in the region - within an hour's drive from Madison and Milwaukee, and only 30 minutes from the Sheboygan, Grafton and Manitowoc areas, we invite you to put down some roots while in Wisconsin.
Come relax throughout the summer in Fond du Lac and enjoy one of the many mapped out routes provided by some of our local cycling enthusiasts. The courses run the gambit from deadpan flat terrain to rolling hills to steeper challenges east of the city. The routes run from easy to very difficult. The back roads of Fond du Lac County offer some totally different bicycling experiences: A pastoral roll through Wisconsin farm fields, to the up and downs of the "kettles" of the Northern Unit of Wisconsin's Kettle Moraine State Forest. Visit www.fdlco.wi.gov for a compete listing of County bicycle trails and parks.
If you're bringing the kids, check out the Fond du Lac Children's Museum, or the Fond du Lac County Water Park. Perhaps take some time to learn how to windsurf on Lake Winnebago.
No matter how you define summer in Wisconsin, in Fond du Lac you'll find swimming, biking, canoeing, fishing, sailing and horseback riding to give you the best there is to offer. Visit www.fdl.com for more information on Fond du Lac.
